  • Comments Thread For: Braehmer-Konrad: Prodigy Leon Bauer Added To Show

The undercard continues to take shape for Juergen Braehmer’s upcoming light heavyweight title defense versus Konni Konrad. Added to the show, teenage prodigy Leon Bauer will take on 15-fight veteran Darko Kneveic in supporting capacity, September 5 at EnergieVerbund Arena in Dresden, Germany. [Click Here To Read More]

What is Kneveic's record and who has he fought? He's not in boxrec. 15 fights isn't a big deal if he's, like, 0-15. Klitschko's second fight was against a guy with 40 fights, but his record was 8-30-2 and had been KO'd 11 times.

Evidently he's 16... so still very young... and yea, while the oponent probably isn't great, he still has more pro experience he could use on a kid.

I'm not to critical of it, cuz the guy is literally a kid

Yeah, he's just a kid, I totally understand that. I was just pointing out that if the story/Sauerland is going to push the fact that he's fighting a 15-fight veteran, it would be nice to know that it's legit (couldn't find him in boxrec) and what his record is. Would be impressed if his record is, like, 13-2 and he's fought somebody beyond novices and maybe has some power, as opposed to 0-15 and has been knocked out 15 times.

I suspect it's closer to the latter, since Sauerland doesn't really like to test its fighters, but I will be interested to see what the kid has.

His name is spelled differently on there, 7-8 record apparently http://boxrec.com/boxer/658696

Thanks. So Bauer's a young, tall super middleweight fighting a guy who has been KO'd in 7 of 15 fights and last fought at 150lbs. That's why the article touting the fact that his opponent has 15 fights is fairly meaningless, but
I guess it's a pretty predictable opponent at this stage in his career. Another early KO on his resume.
