Froch would stop him in a rematch.

What did you see in the first fight that leads you to make such a bold statement? Did Froch somehow gain the hand & footspeed to suddenly keep up with Ward?

Nothing in the first fight, it's the path that both fighters followed after the fight that brings me to that conclusion. One fighter improved, continued to learn and sharpen his boxing acumen through challenging fights, and dominated. The other basically hasn't done anything notable since.

It's the same thing if we talk about a Khan/Maidana rematch. Only a nuthugger or fool would consider Khan a favorite in a rematch (assuming Maidana is active). Khan has done relatively nothing since that fight, which was his best win (as Froch was Wards best win) and Maidana got noticeably better.

Fights improve, situations improve, fighters can also get old, get hurt, become emotionally scarred after a devastating loss, things change.

Why would my only supporting evidence for an analysis be limited to the first fight when it was several years ago?

Mainly because what won the 1st fight for Ward was the difference in hand and foot speed. I (like most) saw nothing in the 1st fight or in any of the following fights that leads me to believe Froch could ever beat Ward. Speed is God given it can't be trained into you nor can you gain it with experience.

That's true, but there are ways to render the speed disparity ineffective, the most obvious is counter-punching.

Fought and beat every mortal man to get into the ring with him. What else can you ask of him?

                Agreed.

I just don't see how Ward can sustain that kind of punishment through 12 rounds. I mean, he is excellent defensively, and an intelligent fighter, but GGG stalks you constantly, and applies pressure with powerful and accurate punches. Wards very heart would be tested. His will. His grit.

some of you clearly don't even watch andre ward fight.

the smart money is on ward on points. that's what vegas odds will indicate.
Ward would get figured out early, out worked, mauled, then he would adjust, GGG would adjust back, maul him again, and Ward probably goes down in the 10th or risks Magomed-type damage long term.

GGG has equal ring IQ, speed, and boxing ability, has more power, and is a stylistic nightmare for Ward. Ward is better defensively but GGG has a very underrated defensive system, and the close rounds would go GGG's way based on activity, and ring generalship. Ward essentially plays russian roulette slipping and rolling shots in the corner and against the ropes because GGG will walk him down and land hellacious shots that back him up and make him question his very purpose in life.

Ward at 168? Im trying to unify MW. If he thought he could beat Ward at 168, he would've accepted the fight. PROOF THAT HE DOESNT THINK HE CAN BEAT WARD. Just another great White (colored) HYPE.
Ward is definitely not hype, if Ward were to fight GGGG before Canelo, he would be his best win easily.

                    • Yesterday's pac-fans, today's ggg fans... Yes ggg is on something 30 ko-streak but I think Ward also would've ko'd all those guys, or Cotto, or Marquez would have. Because boxing stars are on a different level than mediocre boxers GGG ko'd.
