Every thread about Ward/ggg you come hard defending ggg and his "modest" resume. Don't you want to to see if gggs immense talents are truly good enough to beat an A list opponent?

I do, was very excited about the prospect of Ggg Froch. This next fight will do, Lemieux has the best chance of anyone below 168, a legit punchers chance. Then there's the Canelo/Cotto mando, that's legit A list. They might have Ward on undercard

Just think of where a win over Ward would have done for ggg. Instant credibility and earning power. Too bad team ggg passed

Don't know why people keep talking about this fight, it is not happening any time soon. GGG's people will not put him in with Ward, the only time I can see it happening is in the future at 175 or a catch weight between 168-175. This will be after GGG potentially clears out 160 and Ward establishes himself at 175. Long way to go and there is no telling if both fighters clear all the hurdles in front of them. The fight today or in the near future....not happening, despite what GGG's trainer says or he himself says, if you want a realistic point of view listen to what Loeffler has to say, his comments are much more revealing, and he is never forthcoming when it comes to Andre Ward.
GGG will build and hopefully get the Canelo-Cotto winner, that is the fight for him to chase, and I hope he gets it. That is the fight that puts him on the map and starts establishing his crossover appeal, especially if he wins. For what its worth I think he will have his hands full with Canelo for as long as it lasts. That fight will tell us more about GGG's level and whether he even belongs in the ring with the best 168lbers. After that IF he wins then he should be looking at 168, looking at one of the weaker champions or a fringe contender to get his feet wet at the weight, I would personally love to see him in with Arthur Abraham...What a fight that could be!!! Abraham hits like a train and has good defence, has been in with the best, thats a great fight. BUT before any of that GGG has got to get past Lemieux which I do expect him to.
For the sake of the thread topic - if the fight gets made today you can't look past Ward. Too big, too fast, too many skills. I think its a UD. GGG has a punchers chance of course, but that is it, Ward will control with his jab and footwork.

Look, as a poster on NSB one can say GGG has no names on his resume, and thats' fine, but don't come up with "reaons" to dislike him, because there aren't any, period. If you try and bring up alleged "ducks" then you just expose your ignorance to the sport because if you knew the politics of the sport you would know that any fight that hasn't happened for him yet isn't his fault.
There are some fighters, as a fight fan, you have to love, no matter who you are, and he is one of them. To disagree means you flat out don't love boxing and are only here for one person, because GGG exemplifies what a fighter should strive to be in boxing.

There was a similar poll on the winner of a Ward/Kovalev fight, and the voting was much closer than in this one. And yet, Ward fans are pushing harder for the GGG/Ward fight and claim they just want to see the best fights.
