    What do you think?
I think Shane was more of a threat at that moment comparing the two.

Cotto was beating people to a pulp but shane was literally outclassing dudes (low level) and when he went to the top level, mainly his IBF title run, was just icing dudes left & right. He even skipped 140 didnt he?

Yeah Shane was the biggest 135 pounder I have ever seen. I had no idea how he made that weight.

Cotto was getting tons of props by HBO back at 140, I assume mainly because they needed somebody to follow Tito and he was a puncher.

I kind of think it's a misnomer that Cotto was drained and had less chin resistance at the weight. He fought some huge punchers at 140. Ricardo Torres could crack. Kelson Pinto and Randall Bailey weren't exactly feather fisted either. They could drop anybody if they hit them right.

I often pick on Cotto but I do think he is very good fighter.

        I agree with everything here.

I'm Puerto Rican and have followed him closer than anyone on here.

He has ALWAYS had power and good fundamentals. However, after the Margarito fight his CONFIDENCE dissappeared. It's like he was afraid of pushing further in fights, he didn't believe in his capabilities anymore. It was a shadow that haunted Cotto, and Pacquiao's loss didn't help either.

The BIGGEST difference has been his confidence and FINDING trainers he actually RESPECTS. Cotto has always had attitude problems, he doesn't like authority or at least sees himself above MOST people. It all started with Diaz, he actually listened to Diaz some and implemented some changes in the ring. Roach absolutely made him believe in himself again and had such an impact that Cotto treats him like his idol The respect and admiration he gives Roach is something I have never seen before from him.

This belief in himself has transferred into boxing, he now believes in his power and his capacity as a fighter. Roach has also maximized the STRENGHTS that were already there.
