After Pacquiao destroyed him, he was a different fighter due to different trainers and being incredibly shop worn.

He's been different since then after hiring Roach as his trainer. He's in better condition and fighting more aggressively.

Cotto in his prime and Cotto right now are night and day to me. Completely different fighters, although Freddie has made him a bit more reminiscent of his old self.

At 140 he was draining himself and had questionable punch resistance as a result.

He's a better fight overall IMO. Before he was with his uncle, who was a limited trainer lets be honest. Cotto has a killer left hook.

When he switched trainers, mainly right before the pacquiao fight, he was training himself basically. Cuz only a buddy of his was helping out & what not.

Then he went on & tried with emmanuel stewart, RIP, but that marriage didn't last long (stewart had nothing but praises for Cotto. He wanted to change his style tho).

That's when Cotto went with Cuban Trainer Pedro Diaz. Which helped imo, better develop cotto's jab (who always had a good jab to begin with). But Cotto wasn't fighting the style that would benefit him. At only 5'7" and a reach of 67", it was in no way in his interest to try and outbox his opponents, who had reach & height advantages.

Now that he's with freddie roach, he's with a trainer that basically fits his fighting style. Also, roach got cotto to cut out all the switching from orthodox to soutpaw like he used to do, which was one of the reasons roach pointed out that Cotto was rather easy to hit at times.

Toss that in with new S&C coach mcmillan (Cotto never really had a S&C coach of mcmillan's level) & Roach fixing up Cotto's diet, which he said was terrible. You have a revamped cotto.

I also have a link to full cotto fights on my sig.

Since you are a big Cotto fan I always felt Cotto at 140 had the same aura as Shane did at 135.

                  What do you think?

                    more... aggressive?
