what makes u so sure? you do realize there are countless times where promoters dont pay fighters involved in fights. i mean this is nothing new to the sport what so ever there has been high profile and low profile cases of fighters simply not even getting payedComment

It's not like someone put a gun to his head and made him fight. And that exposure helped him get bigger fights that paid a lot of money.
Sounds fair to me.Comment

Fonfara is a very hard working fighter who never comes into a fight out of shape or cheats the fans.
Duva didn't want him then, but if she does now, he should be compensated, that's really all he is saying and I think it's great.
It's like a fvkk u u were wrong about me type of note.
Fonfara is a good dude and he never acts like a diva or makes silly demands.
He just goes to work and does the best he can.
WAR FONFARA!!!

It's like big name movie stars taking pay cuts or even the famous $1 payment for movies, especially indies and then taking a cut of the box office.Comment

So the F what? I'm an AM boxer and i've fought for free. In fact, it cost me gas money. It's called, for the love of the sport, dummys.Comment

From what I'm gathering, Fonfara wanted to be on that show because it was gonna be televised on polish T.V. It was a co-main event to Adamek right before Adamek fought Klitschko, but Duva didn't want to pay him because he wasn't one of her fighters
So Fonfara and his team bought his way onto the card and the $1 check was the minimum she had to pay him for being on the card, or something along those lines.
So looks like she got Fonfara to pay to be the co-main to her fight with Adamek
Ima look what Duva had to say, but that's from what Max saidComment

Reading the interview posted earlier Fonfora took the fight to get exposure and was told well before the event that she didn't want him on the card and wouldn't pay him.

edit: based on op, I thought Fonfara was her fighter at that time which is where the rest of that came from. Otherwise, now that it's been explained, it's a different case.
you should read the other posts, it's already been explained. he bought his way onto a card.Last edited by SCEN3RY; 08-17-2015, 03:16 PM.Comment
