Originally posted by St. Johns Gent View Postlemieux lasted 7 against Rubio before getting knocked out, he doesn't move that big head of his, target practice all night for GGG, and GGG is gonna demolish this guy, Oscar is really setting up his fighter for a quick night out, Oscar could've let Lemieux have 1-3 defenses of his titles versus good competition, let him improve on his faults before putting him in this mega fight the way he did with Canelo vs Josesito, Alfonso Gomez, etc. (hahaha)... Lemieux is a big puncher but his defense is a lot worse than GGG's, i hope he catches GGG leaning in with his head with one of those Lemieux heavy hooks while GGG is setting up a hook to the body and wobbles him but i doubt it
Also, when someone brings Rubio fight, it's good to mention that David was beating Rubio up pretty bad and was way ahead on all scorecards.
But again I agree that Oscar should have convinced him to defend his title a few times before step in the ring with Golovkin. GGG is more experienced. But it is David who wants to fight GGG and this is what boxing about. David is fearless and that's why he gets more respect.
Other so called champions gonna wait 10 years until GGG gets old!

Lemieux is the only current champ and top 5ish fighter in his division to be called a tomato can, but I suppose when you're a GGG hater everyone he fights isn't good enough.

The Big Problem with Abel he was never boxer. He does not understands level of opponents. He thinks David is Stevens.
He also thought Mohamedi had chances against Kovalev. He never boxed himself. He does not know boxing tricks. Golovkin level is the same it was when he turned pro.
But Abel likes to talk a lot though.

I'd pick GGG over anyone <160, including Canelo.
