Fkn fight night weights! Only brought up when somebody needs an excuse...i guess ur all for rehydration clauses too to cap fight night weights...making weight is more important than fight night weightsComment

Of course it doesn't. Alvarez has been making this fight for 2 years, and Cotto is a super welterweight. I don't think there was any doubt 155 would be the weight they agreed on.Comment

Although PacHoya wasnt a catchweight and took place at 147, DLH was fightn at 154lbs just before that. Which is one of the reasons that fight gets discredited, "Oscar was drained", "a year of inactivity" "coming off a loss" to name a fewComment

try again
if anything, I'm one of those that would prefer fight night weigh ins to return.Comment

Anything above 154.01 is MW - stop crying
You people are pathetic
Either Canelo or Cotto will handle a hypejob like GGGComment

Yes, it does tarnish the fight. If Mayweather/Alvarez was tarnished by the catchweight like all the haters on this site claim, then Cotto/Alvarez is tarnished by the catchweight.
All the haters want to criticize Mayweather (who has only had two catchweight fights) as if he did something terrible. Yet, this will be Cotto's fifth catchweight fight and it will be Alvarez's fourth or fifth catchweight fight.
Whoever wins this fight will be the official catchweight king....and will still be three notches below Mayweather in terms of talent and skill
If either Cotto or Canelo had fought at full 160 before then this would be a farce. But Cotto himself has said he is not a full middleweight and Canelo hasn't made the leap yet so I have no problems with it. I think it's just a matter of time before Canelo is at full 160 or above.Comment
