Neither one has done anything significant since they lost to Floyd. The Cotto that was too old and washed up when he fought Mayweather is now older and the Alvarez who was too green when he fought Floyd has not gotten any riper.

It is a decent fight, but no where near as great as the experts who post on this message board claim.
I think that we need to wait until the end of the fight to judge, as everybody know the Super / Mega fight of the century Floyd vs Paquiao at the end was garbage.

It all depends on how you as boxing fan view or consider to be a Mega fight. If you judge a fight based on PPV draws and call it Mega because of it, then good for you. but if you don't know about the history of this rivalry and it's hardcore boxing fans, then you just don't know.
Megafights break records and appeal to boxing fans and non-boxing fans alike.

Like I said, should be an OK fight.

Like Oscar said, GGG vs Lemieux will be the fight for supremacy in the MW division.

These two will be scrapping over 3rd and 4th place and the winner will probably duck the top dog.

I can consider this a super/mega fight, what I can not consider it, is a MW fight.

This fight WILL be better than that!
              Fair enough.

But make no mistake about it I am very excited and eagerly looking forward to Cotto/Canelo!

It's funny, Cotto's MW title fights have been at 159, 157, and now 155. Next he'll be defending his MW belt at a catchweight below the JMW limit.

damn good post.. everybody that floyd conquers is always past prime/old/green until they fight someone else, then they are "reborn".

At 160 though, I think he would be too big and strong for either of them.
