NEW YORK - With just two days to go until their Premier Boxing Champions on Spike showdowns, fighters participating on the Friday, August 14 card at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey held a press conference Wednesday at B.B. King's Blues Club & Grill in Manhattan.

Televised coverage begins at 9 p.m. ET/PT and is headlined by a 12-round heavyweight showdown between Antonio "Magic Man" Tarver (31-6, 22 KOs) and Steve "U.S.S." Cunningham (28-7, 13 KOs). I'm intrigued, if Tarver wins and actually gets in line for a shot at Wilder or Wlad, i'll be rooting for him, he doesn't look 47 at all. WTF, he is ageing pretty damn well. Like Gordon from Sesame Street!

I think the cruiserweight division is more exciting that given credit for. Guys like Chakhkiev, Drozd, Masternak, Makabu, Kudryashov, etc. of course Levedev. All beasts and punch like mules. Watch Wlodarczyk vs Chakhkiev if you haven't . It was in 2013 and a lot has changed but regardless, great fight.
