Ahck! They should have fought the whole fight like that last 30 seconds! Cruz fought well though and showed some extra wrinkles which seemed to be enough to just throw Mares off.

Good fight, although it didn't quite live up to the hype of what it could have been, as evidenced by some small parts of the fight that were great. I think it was just Mares got tired and sloppy and ended up clinching too much. Came out too quick I think.

Wonder where Mares goes from here? He's still young and fought a hell of a lot of great fighters and there's still more out there for him.

I was all for seeing LSC losing tonight, but that 114 score card was a joke. LSC took that 116-112 I had it, but not really up for arguing it, it could be anything around there with that style

Mares fought a very rough fight with Jack Riess refereering. Lucky he there wasn't points deducted.

Lol they presented the score in a dumb way. When you have 117-111 for one, 114-114 and say the third score and that it is a majority decision, then it by definition has to be for the same guy who got the first 117-111 (otherwise it would be a split draw).

Anyway, 117-111 and 114-114 feel like far end of the spectrum. But it's all good, the right guy got the decision.

Leo can fight. He has a nice jab, a good one two, He keeps his chin tucked, even under pressure. Mares is my man, he brought it. and when he was getting caught in the face at range, he tried to stay close and smother santa cruz punches.....didnt work for him tho.
