How can they be fighting for the WBA super title when there's already a champion? Cuellar is getting jobbed.
That's why being a 2-3 division champion means little nowadays. Beating the best opponents in your division is much harder.
Whoever wins, he won't be a legit featherweight champion.Comment

a super champ, a regular champ and an interim champ. unfortunately this has been standard practice for the wba for a while now. i'm not entirely sure how two fighters who are unranked by the wba can be suddenly fighting for the vacant super title though... you'd think they'd make their existing regular champ and interim champ fight for it (except of course cuellar and zambrano are worth a lot less money than santa cruz and mares)Last edited by NEETzsche; 08-29-2015, 08:05 AM.Comment

perhaps late, but this should be entertaining. I'm assuming Cruz is the favorite (???) and that's probably fair. I don't want to over analyze this one, I'll keep it short, giving Santa Cruz the edge, his balance is better, he's more compact with his offense and he does a good job of catching and shooting from that high guard.Comment
