FACT: The divisional limit for middleweight is 160, end of story

FACT: in a middleweight bout you can weigh anything from 154.1-160

FACT: Any contractual stipulation specifying that the maximum allowed weight is LESS than a standard divisional limit, will automatically render the bout a catchweight contest.

JRB, surely you can see the difference between weighing whatever you happen to be comfortable with..... and being restricted because of an imposed sanction?

Couldn't care less about WBC, the winner might as well drop the title and then fight GGG to avoid paying the fee to those crooks.

All these belts are worthless, they're just a money-making pyramid scheme.

Yeah there are contractual catchweights but my main thing is that anyone can fight for the middleweight title as long as they don't weigh above 160. They can weigh in at 139 and fight for it if they want to...

What's the word about Ward-Kovalev? Did one of them require the other to be at a specific weight also?

While I agree with you, they are also there to rank and determine who fights who.

Ultimately. If we end up with a close fight that warrants a rematch. I'm pretty sure they'll ignore the WBC.

Good - all these top fighters need to fight each other whether by decision or being forced to.
