This topic shouldn't even be discussed. Canelo will never fight below 154 ever again.

Cotto-Canelo will likely be a two-fight series (PPV in November and rematch in May/June based on who wins). What's to stop Cotto from saying "fight Ward while I take care of this rematch or fight Jorge Sebastian Heiland, for a vacant belt on regular HBO for maybe $1m"?

Team Golovkin yaps about "only wanting the belt", but I call bull**** on that.

Ward is being talked up as the co-feature to Cotto-Canelo, and has a 168 with a new slew of challengers to work through; after the Lemieux fight, Golovkin is literally facing a near year of nothing fights to slog through.

Golovkin's over a barrell, but his fans don't want to acknowledge that yet.
Not only Ward, but Roc Nation also has a copromotional contract with Miguell Cotto Promotions. So any fights with Miguel Cotto Promotion fighters involve Roc Nation. For example:

You notice this event is being promoted by Rocnation, MC Promotions. It was what Cotto had said was part of his contract with Roc Nation. Not only did Roc Nation get Miguel Cotto the fighter, they got his Boxers as well.

As Far as GGG lovers. He probably will not get past David Lemieux with a Win. David Lemieux is a very skilled and hard punching boxer. So worry about that guy before asking for either Canelo or Cotto. Plus sell PPVs as its GGG first PPV.

I do hope Ward gets co-featured on the Canelo vs Cotto. But against a quality name. Wards exposure is good but not great, and that stage would be great for him. Not to mention I am going to the fight

Golden Boy and Haymon clearly aren't going to be working together.

Cotto has a better chance to land if he wins, but he's also with Roc Nation which will make it difficult to do that fight as well.

I think HBO is planning on a Canelo vs GGG fight if Canelo wins hence why they're giving GGG the stage to see how he performs.

I don't think Lemieux sees the 6th round honestly

I think win or lose Canelo gets the GGG fight. Canelo has a name GGG needs even if Cotto beats him. Cotto will not fight GGG if he wins he will Vacate and fight Floyd or if Floyd does retire and Vacate I see Cotto fighting for those titles and still vacating the middleweight title.
