Its' been said before but Khan should have fought Brook for his strap if his resume is so weak, but he didn't. He didn't learn anything from Alexander. Enough said.

Floyd should have rematched Cotto (a good sendoff for both and since he gave him the hardest fight of "the big 3"), and Canelo should stop masquerading as a 155 lb junior middleweight (a trick he learned from the equally entitled Chavez Jr. no doubt) and fight Gennady Golovkin since he's so over-hyped and under-accomplished according to this forum.

Of the available options Mayweather chose someone who has been fighting once a year against subpar competition and not looking good in the process. That would not be a credible opponent.

Especially for $30+ million. Imagine putting that money back into ShowTime's budget. Several great fights could be made with that chunk of cash. If Floyd stinks up the joint in September, I don't see a bidding war next spring for 50 and 0.
