It's the aura he had at the beginning of his career before meeting buster mah****ing douglas ( as Roger mayweather referred to him).

He represented all we wanted from a HW champion, and he wasn't some oversized guy who we believed was only as good due to gifted physical attributes.

His ferocity, relentlessness, and everyrhing else he embodied has became legendary despite it existing in a very weak Era and the man himself being a rapist and mean disturbed *******.

      I actually agree with you

That being said, Tyson is loved because he was an icon more than for what he actually accomplished in his career

Casual fans respect heavyweights the most. When they hear a word "boxer", they imagine a strong heavy man, not a guy that weights 150 lbs..

If you look at stats and put away the bias Floyd is far better then him.Like on another planet.

I dont get it. i was born in 1993 so i wasnt there for the hysteria.
You answered your own question, you weren't even thought about when Tyson was at his best. His skills In 1988 were every bit as good or better than the two fighters you mentioned.

Your too young to experience how big Tyson was in his prime. He is revered because Mike in his prime didn't just beat guys, he destroyed them. He won most of his fights before he even stepped in the ring because of the intimidation factor. Guys knew what was about to happen. Plus boxing in the 80's and early 90's was a major sport and not a niche sport like it is now. Tyson was known around the world. He fell hard and was never the same but age has made him reflective and he has shown remorse and people respond to that. Maybe once Floyd is broke 10 years from now he will be a sympathetic figure, but not now.
