Pure luck -- that phantom glove stitch scratch which closed Lucas' eye in about three seconds... One in a million chance, but it happened...
... You have guys here saying that Danny "beat him easily", or he "whooped his ass"... I only reminded those guys Angel's words: "Danny pissed blood for two weeks after the fight"...Comment

He should have remained with Haymon if a rematch meant this much to him. And that's correct, according to Arum, Matthysse isn't going to be in there with Pacquiao or Crawford anytime soon.Comment

You don't base your career on one guy. He made a decision that he felt would benefit him overall. He just had a marquee fight and now Is Fighting for a belt, I'd say he made the right choice.Comment

I think Mathysse saw that Haymon wasn't going to give him the fights he wanted, especially Garcia, who he has been overprotecting since the Herrera fight. If he there wasn't a Herrera rematch what chances are there that Mathysse would be give a chance for redemption? A rematch isn't a bad idea, it was a close fight, and yes he was winning the fight before his eye closed, I gave Garcia full credit but facts are facts.Comment

Lucas is a REAL dude....nothing EXTRA about him...a no nonsense type of cat...I have the utmost respect for him as MAN and as a fighter!!...that said, you can't chase nothing that's not running away from you....Swift will grind him out and grind out another win over him imo if it happens again...first things first though....Postol must fall and I predict Lucas gets him outta there in 7Comment

I'm not saying he didn't make the right move with his career. Simply that if a rematch meant this much to him, that he wants to CHASE Garcia at 147, he should have remained with Haymon. Leaving Haymon rules out any possibility.
I think it was a lack of patience and not realising fighters themselves play a role into fights being made. Now that he isn't with Haymon, his options are far more limited! Garcia has a definite say into who he fights and who he doesn't fight. Many of you overlook this though and Haymon is typically the scapegoat.I think Mathysse saw that Haymon wasn't going to give him the fights he wanted, especially Garcia, who he has been overprotecting since the Herrera fight. If he there wasn't a Herrera rematch what chances are there that Mathysse would be give a chance for redemption? A rematch isn't a bad idea, it was a close fight, and yes he was winning the fight before his eye closed, I gave Garcia full credit but facts are facts.
A rematch with Matthysse had more possibility simply because they shared the same ties with Haymon. This is something Herrera doesn't have. The fight was made at a time when many naysayers here claimed it would NEVER happen. So a rematch was more possible since they actually fought already.Comment
