    Groves: "Froch will be forgotten"

    ***8220;I***8217;m not surprised he retired, said Groves about Froch via Fighthype. ***8220;He hasn***8217;t boxed for a year now. He wanted to fight in Vegas. He wanted to hand pick opponents. Since then, he had to vacate his IBF title. He was stripped of his title by the WBA. It***8217;s probably about time that he retired before I win a belt and everyone starts talking about me and him fighting again. He***8217;ll soon get forgotten. I don***8217;t like him***8230;we***8217;ve got nothing in common.***8221;

        No one is going to forget you getting KTFO Groves, and I was rooting for you.

          You know what's crazy though, mainstream wise, not many people know who Carl Froch is in the US. Which sucks because he had the toughest string of fights from 2008-2014 of like almost anyone in that span, def top 3. But also, even less people know George Groves.

              The butthurt is strong with this one.

              In the unlikely event that Badou Jack beats him, I'll giggle my mfkn ass off.

                  Imo it's the same in the UK, Froch never fully crossed over in terms of being a household name. He was getting there, but then he retired.

                  That said, he won't be forgotten here by boxing fans because he's going to be on Sky Sports as a boxing pundit every weekend.

                    He only really entered mainstream with the Kessler & Groves fights but then he retired just as he hit the top in terms of public consciousness.

                    Yeah, i'd say he never really crossed over to being almost a household name until the big wembley fight and that's because of the sky sports hype machine but really the majority of people couldn't tell you much about his career at all.

                    I also think he'll be on Sky for a while so he'll always be in the public eye a bit.

                    With that said, and i like Groves but he should worry more about his own career than Froch's. At the moment he's basically dining out on the fact he give Froch a big scare in the first fight and a controversial stoppage and he's currently remembered for being folded like a chair in the middle of Wembley Stadium.
