Although I do believe he could have, I have also have to mention the facts. Tito pre-wrap scandal was a huge puncher, after the wrap incident, he his power was nowhere to be found. That's the same thing that happened to margarito. Once these guys got caught, they were not the same. Post wrap scandal Tito probably edges canelo in a close fight cause he was well conditioned.

Notice how Tito is always in the shadows when boxing stars like SRR, Duran, SRL, JCC, Hagler etc are mentioned despite having been in great fights. So true Tito was exposed as a cheat, he even went into retirement after that fight which I found so odd, win or lose you keep fighting, yes he came out of retirement after that ass wiping Hopkins gave him, but never was that power like before when he was rocking guys with just a jab. I think Canelo would actually be a tough match up for Tito... Canelo's chin held up extremely well against Kirkland among other fighters... If Tito can't hurt Canelo, he would be the one vulnerable to big shots. I do agree though that Tito could still win a decision because of Canelo's stamina issues... I'd take Tito by decision in a fight where he had some scary moments..

Hopkins didn't "run" against Tito...he boxed beautifully and gave Tito a beating...

This was nothing like Mayweather running from Pacquiao and pot-shotting and grabbing and doing no damage to Pac..

Hopkins fought the fight of his life..one of the brilliant performances in boxing history...

Mayorga the same man who beat the great Vernon Forrest twice. Mayorga at that time had an iron chin. Yes he was a world class fighter otherwise he would have never beaten prime Forrest. Whether he lost to other welters or not is not the issue you said he dixnt show power even though he was the first man to drop mayorga. Also Bernard hopkins is something else maybe the greatest middleweight of all time and even at almost 50 lightheavyweight kovalev couldnt stop him.

Agree about Bernard, but not about Forrest. Forrest showed flashes of brilliance (e.g. the Mosely fights), but the mere fact that he lost twice to Mayorga precludes him from ever being considered great.
