On the real though lets be real though tons of those ppv buys werent to see mayweather they were bought to see him get his a$$ whooped by the next latin hype. And can almost guarantee 75% of the 4+ mill buys for pac/may were bought buy people rooting for pac . This ppv imho will be all about mayweather no hype brought in by the opponent. It will truely be all mayweather similar to pac alguire/rios. But some how he gets credit for for solely pulling those numbers

I give floyd crap for using latinos to sell his ppcs on mexican holidays but With salido/martinez on the undercard both of which are not huge names . And floyd not fighting a latino on the main how well will this fight do.

And thats the genius of it all really. The reality is being a non-HW, non-hispanic PPV star is virtually impossible without a hispanic on the bill. Mayweather & Pacquiao both got built up from the backs of great hispanic, namely Mexican fighters. Both of their biggest PPV's were against Mexican fighters or Cotto (outside of each other of course, but that happened years after they've built up this epic rivalry). There isn't really a large enough market share for non-HW, non-hispanic fighters to exist on PPV like Floyd & Manny do w/o a opponent who's of that background.
