In boxing you have to continue to win to get to the top but sometimes especially nowadays guys get fights because of their name recognition.

Floyd's point is in the UFC guys can lose many times and still face the top guy. In boxing it is very difficult to lose several times and get a shot at the number one guy. Berto once held a belt and was in line for a Floyd fight but with 3 losses people are saying Berto has no shot. But in the UFC a guy can lose ten times and still not be considered shot.
I don't even know what you guys are defending at the point. Berto-Mayweather is trash on paper. End of story. We can only hope to 'be pleasantly suprised.

It is a crap fight. But like I said in my previous post: I won't blame a nearly 40 year old fighter who's fought nothing but world champions for nearly the past ten years for taking an easy fight. I would have preferred to see him face Kell Brook but he's fighting Berto. All the great fighters in history took soft touches from time to time so I'm not going to **** on Floyd.

That's fine. That's not why 10-9 MMA fighters are getting world title shots and Floyd should know that. End of discussion really, right?

Floyd is trying to justify his ****ty ass fight by pointing a finger in a place where it's not applicable.

If Floyd would have came out and said what you just said everyone would clown him but at least respect his honesty. Now they're clowning him and calling him out fit being so full of ****, but hey that's what he always has been. Can't teach an old dog new tricks

        Hes the ultimate troll

I agree this fight is ridiculous and makes no sense, I hate Mayweather but I respect his skills which is why he should not be fighting such an easy fighter in his last fight. Not a chance in hell am I buying this, hell I wont even steal it online, Ill just watch the outcome on boxingscene, except this fight has already written its headlines.

Is Broner not a novelty side show?At least in boxing we'll let him go away in the UFC they dug up Lesnar even after he became disinterested and had over half of his lower intestines removed.

There's an interview Floyd did in his gym where he openly said he wanted his 49th fight to be an easy fight to set himself up for a 50th bout. And his point is still somewhat applicable. A fighter loses in boxing despite fighting the top guys and people **** on him. In MMA they lose against the top guys and are still considered relevant. His point is that boxing fans are much harder on boxers than UFC fans are on their top fighters.

Ronda Rousey just fought someone who was a full time accountant up until just four years ago, someone who had no amateur career, yet Ronda Rousey is the UFCs biggest star. She is getting nothing but praise for facing someone with only a handful of fights and not much experience. Like I said, boxing fans are much harder on boxers than MMA fans are on their fighters.

What he said is very easy to understand.

Ufc are pretty good at making fights everybody has loses because Dana white makes good fights. People should earn their shot .instead nowadays boxing champions r fighting stepping stones as if they were prospects trying to come up ..
