Yes he is very slow. He has good handspeed, but thats where that ends. Hes only able to be a decent counterpuncher when facing someone who moves with all the nuance of a tree like DeMarco.
Someone with ok speed and decent workrate and Broner can't put a dent. He puts up his mediocre shoulder roll, waits for their combination to end, then throws useless shoeshines.
Broner won't be able to stay in the pocket and counter against someone taller with the reach advantage who is a lot better at managing distance like Benavidez. Broner tries to close the distance the way he normally does, he'll find himself running right into a straight right hand.
