Mayweather should have fought Lara because he hasn't defended his 154 pound belts in two years and the WBA and WBC should have already stripped him of those titles a long time ago by their own rules. Any other fighter who didn't defend his title in two years would loses that title but Mayweather gets special treatment. Mayweather is not trying to make anyone happy besides himself. He does what he pleases and fights who he pleases. He put his two 154 pound titles out of action for two years instead of doing the right thing and vacating those titles. That is very selfish of him. Lara would give Mayweather lots of trouble. If Mayweather did fight Lara he would probably Canelo him with a catch weight fight of 152 pounds top weight.

I've started to appreciate Lara more and while his style is difficult to deal with, he's failed when it was time to shine. So I disagree with this "should" have been.

I like Lara more than Floyd. I just don't think he's diverse enough in his attack to cause issues.

i think he'd fight more like he did years ago, against a smaller guy. I actually like this fight.
