    Perez v Mikhaylenko tops loaded Fantasy Springs bill this Saturday

    This Saturday, the Coachella Valley desert in California will once again sizzle with an exciting, action-packed evening of boxing, live from Fantasy Springs Resort Casino and televised live on HBO Latino® Boxing at 10:30 p.m. (live ET/tape-delayed PT).

    Johan "El Terrible" Perez (20-2-1, 13 KOs), former interim WBA Light Welterweight Champion of Caracas, Venezuela, will battle undefeated Russian boxer Dmitry "The Mechanic" Mikhaylenko (19-0, 8 KOs) as he defends his current NABA Welterweight Title in the much-anticipated 12-round main event.

    Also live on the HBO Latino® Boxing, former world title contender Yoandris "El Nino" Salinas (21-1-2, 14 KOs) of Miami will face off against undefeated standout Manuel "Tino" Avila (17-0, 7 KOs) of Fairfield, Calif. in the co-main event for the vacant interim NABF Super Bantamweight Title in a 10-round super bantamweight bout.

    Opening up the HBO Latino® Boxing live telecast at 10:30 p.m. (live ET/tape-delayed PT), Philadelphia son Tevin Farmer (19-4-1, 4 KOs) will now face new opponent Daulis Prescott (30-2, 22 KOs) of Barranquilla, Columbia in a 10-round super featherweight fight.

    In the non-televised undercard, Irish knockout artist and Los Angeles transplant Jason Quigley (7-0, 7 KOs) is set to take on Michael Faulk (3-2, 1 KO) of Queens, New York in a six-round super middleweight bout. As previously announced, Paulis Ritter of Newport Beach, Calif. will make his professional debut in a four-round heavyweight bout against Tommy Washington (3-7, 2 KOs) of Lansing, Mich. and undefeated featherweight Joet Gonzalez (11-0, 4 KOs) of Glendora, Calif., will face Miguel Tamayo (16-4-2, KOs) of Ciudad Obregon, Mexico in a six-round featherweight bout. Palm Desert junior middleweight favorite Neeco Macias (8-0, 4 KOs) will compete in six-round bout against Julian Cruz (2-4) of Long Beach, Calif. and local fighter, Darius Ervin (2-0) will take on Diego Padilla (1-0) of Los Angeles in a four-round welterweight bout. Lastly, middleweight Quilisto Madera (1-0) of Las Vegas will open up the night in a four-round middleweight battle against Tijuana, Mexico's Fernando Najera (1-7).

    Adding to the excitement at Fantasy Springs on Aug. 8, former nine-time World Champion Roy Jones Jr., will host a special meet and greet with fans prior to the televised bouts from 6:00 pm to 7:00 p.m. in the Special Events Center. Fans with tickets to the event will have an opportunity to meet and take photos with the decorated champion.

      It's a decent card. I'm interested to see how Avila looks against Salinas, who will definitely test him.
