PPV fights should only occur when the fight is between two proven championship caliber opponents.

The business model of making all fights PPV has ruined boxing and has ruined the current generation of boxers. Greed was the root of the model and now it is the downfall. Within the current crop of fighters, even the most mediocre believe they should receive purses worth millions per fight. Total madness!!!

Make everyone fight on regular\free TV until they become stars, then match up the stars in a PPV event. This makes the most sense and forces match-ups that are worthy of those mega-paychecks.

I agree. UFC follows this and have actually grown in house PPV stars with this method.

Ufc has a ppv every month and the numbers aren't huge at all.
