Is Al Haymon good for Boxing???

I honestly believe Al Haymon is the worst thing to happen to boxing. He cherry picks his boxers setting them up with easy to intermediate fights. He never has the boxing fans general interest in mind.

For example, I like Santa Cruz but his last 3 fights were setup horribly. He finally gets a fight against Mares but why did we need to wait so long??? Thurman is another example. He keeps getting setup with some weak opposition. The best fight so far was when he fought Diego Chaves but that's it! Where are the other good fighters? I heard from a Thurman interview how Al Haymon presents the fights to his boxers. He gives them two options(2 boxers) to choose from sometimes 1 option. They either take the fight or they wait. They all want to make money so they choose who they need to select. Now think about the type of fights Golden Boy or Bob Arum sets up. They are setting up the best fighters to fight the best almost every single time. Haymon has over 100 boxers signed?? Why? Honestly if you're not setting up the best fights for your cash cows, then how is he going to bring up the other not so well known boxers?

Since Haymon didn't have the boxing fans best interest in mind, I at least thought he would have the fighters best interest. But after seeing what Khan went through, he's not doing that either.

Golden Boy and Top Rank keep doing your thing.. I'd much rather watch your fights any day.

For the casuals he's bringing back free boxing so no. Because he's done no interviews, we don't know his stance or business model and are basically using him as a scapegoat for boxing's problems.

You need people like me so you can point your ****in' fingers and say, "That's the bad guy." So... what that make you? Good? You're not good. You just know how to hide, how to lie. Me, I don't have that problem. Me, I always tell the truth. Even when I lie. So say good night to the bad guy! Come on. The last time you gonna see a bad guy like this again, let me tell you. Come on. Make way for the bad guy. There's a bad guy comin' through! Better get outta his way!

too early to say if hes good or bad. its almost sounds like hes using the old pro wrestling model. which is build up a wrestler by putting him in matches with "jobbers" (guys solely there to make them look good) and once he builds himself a name and has a buzz, they would put him in a big match.

6 months in and PBC seems very disorganized and has done nothing to capture the attention of the casuals.

I believe Haymon is good for his fighters by getting them inflated paydays for mediocre fights, but its still too soon to see the impact he has on the sport as a whole.

So far he's helped to further divide the sport if anything.

Al Haymon is a strong competitor in a competitive marketplace. In a marketplace, one should not worry so much about whether something is "good" or not. The market will identify the winners and the losers and who is producing a "good" product from a "bad" one.

I believe Haymon has a very unique vision for where he wants to take his share of the boxing market, but only time will tell if he's successful or not.
