If he is, then I wish he beat either may or pac in a grand fashion. We want the transition to be as clear as possible, doesn't matter if both are old now, casuals will treat as is. Defeat is defeat for most of them.Comment

I wouldn't say that yet. He is clearly levels above the competition he is facing currently but so are alot of people in the 147lb division. He's being raised at a good pace that allows him to gain more experience and create an identity for himself as a boxer and find what works best for him in the ring. Nothing wrong with that as long as he isn't holding a belt hostage while learning on the job. That said I would need to see against at least two different serious title contenders before I label him the next big thing. He could have all the skills in the world but be hesistant and turtle up/panic whenever being faced with a legit power puncher w/skills. Or he could be dumbfounded and not know how to properly cut off the ring when faced with a boxer that sticks and move. Plus I would like to see what happens whenever he's not the bigger man in the ring. If he can handle himself and deal with these types of things than that is a step in the right direction. Thing is theres alot of contenders in the division he happens to be in and that makes for interesting fights. How will he handle himself when he's going against someone where he's not just expected to win, so you actually have to watch the fight or look it up to know the outcome? Hopefully he pans out and has a good career.Comment

I wanna see Spence do big things & I think he has some potential, but I feel like he could be this era's Paul Spadafora. Not in ****ed up drug **** & wasted potential, but in being more known for his sparring successes than his in the ring success.
When I watch Spence fight I don't see that thing I saw watching a young Mayweather, RJJ, Tyson, Oscar, Tito or Sweet Pea Whitaker. Someone mentioned in this thread the x factor. I don't see it yet. And I think we would have seen it by now if it was there vs his level of competition. When I saw young Floyd, Roy, Mike, Oscar, Felix & Pernell it was almost like seeing a superhero in the ring with their capabilities. I just see a guy who's better than his opponent with Spence like I see with many future title holders & contenders.Comment

Man that one moment in the Bailey/Jones fight straight up killed that dude's entire career. **** is crazy when you think about it. He was winning that fight easy, was being talked about (DURING THAT FIGHT MIND YOU) as a future champ in the weight class, and then in one brief moment, Bailey lands that brutal uppercut and that's all she wrote.Comment
