And the place was packed from the time of the first bell of the first undercard fight to well after the main event was done.

When PBC can put a show like that together and keep the excitement going from beginning to end, then I will say it can be a success. When it can do that EVERY TIME it has a major fight, then the fans will get on board and people will watch. And they will be lining up to actually BUY their tickets instead of waiting for freebies.

But the way it is now, PBC has all the interest and excitement of playing golf in Northern Quebec in the middle of winter.
stfu about excitement. Tell me your favorite fight of the night. prelims or main card. I'm tired of you posers acting like you know what's happening when you don't..Did you hear the crowd after the co main event fight was announced? Did you hear the boos mixed with the cheers? Do you know damian maia, rickson gracie and the style they bring? Do you think everyone loved Josh shields in the octagon?

please quit pretending like every fight was full of excitement when you maybe saw only one.

Again, it took the ufc over 20 years to get to this point. It didn't happen in 1995 or in 2008 when they were purchased. Do a little research please

The fox1 deal was done and paid for months ago and reported on by multiple news outlets. It is just now officially released because fox had to wait for their previous boxing contract to expire before it could go into effect. The announcing of the deal now has nothing to do with any success for PBC up to this point. Lol It was already paid for months ago.

Nobody knows the expectations that haymon has for PBC and what kinda ratings they're looking for. But what I do know is they just purchased more air time on FOX Sports. I asked these same detractors a similar question some time ago: If the PBC model of buying network time and (allegedly) overpaying fighters is such a doomed-to-fail losing proposition, then please explain why Roc Nation just did the EXACT SAME THING with Andre Ward's return fight and BET after PBC was already (allegedly) floundering?

The PPV fights were mediocre to bad and the main event was an epic squash match.

but haymon is not as greedy as other promoter keeping it all for himself..white is making a fortune paying pennies..robbing fighters...

haymon is fine as long as his fighters earn...HE'S WILLING TO TAKE THE LESS THAN 10%...listen to floyd talk about him

I think anytime over a million people are watching boxing it's a good thing. NBC and CBS shows should probably do more because of the reach of the networks but this number seems good on ESPN. Boxing will never be a mainstream sport folks, we can't expect 3-4 million people on ESPN to watch a fight unless it was some mega fight they somehow got on a regular network.
Still a terrible card though nonetheless .

The largest boxing audience on ESPN since 1998. Tremendous job, PBC.

                Let's keep it going.

Because Roc Nation had no choice. No other network was willing to show the Ward fight and they could not have his first fight not be televised. But it is understandable to a promoter new to the sport as Roc Nation is, who have gotten themselves into a hole with one fighter who runs away from his mandatory and another who has not fought in almost two years, that they will have problems.

And they were still better than what PBC presented.
