    Comparing there ratings is pointless.
    How much did they spend?

You have to subscribe to ESPN it's not a free channel. They have subscribers I just don't think the price is as high as HBO and it's far more popular content.

And again, you're just hating to hate. ESPN spent more than they have in years and did more ratings than they have in years. There is a correlation there. Ignoring it doesn't make it go away. And once again, Haymon is paying for this in the hopes someone decides to end up paying him to be on there. It's a negotiation his job is to make it high.

I have no problems with him spending money that's exactly what you need to do to make a big splash. He's spending it wrong in my opinion but the whole point is to get his investment back in 5-10 years it's been 6 months. In the words of Aaron Rodgers. "R-E-L-A-X. Relax."

Use common sense here, what makes more sense, spending less $ but making a profit?

Or spending way more, but losing a ton of $ but having better ratings?

        This **** isn't rocket science.

What splash? No third party is saying ESPN got good ratings. The news today is that the UFC dominated with the prelim. Nobody is talking about PBC but die hard fans. All the independent reports on Saturdays tv ratings talking about the UFC. They made the splash with a slither of the budget PBC just spent. And if the ratings are so good then where are the TV advertisement deals for PBC? 5-10 years? Bad TV ratings little to no TV advertisement and 2 mega lawsuits, huge backlash from fans over mismatches. You could make the case everything that could go wrong has gone wrong the first 6 months. 1mil rating on ESPN after they jammed the fight down there views throat on sportscenter and there other shows like first take is not a success.

UFC provided something that PBC has yet to provide on ANY of their shows... EXCITEMENT! The crowd in Brazil was going nuts. The atmosphere in the arena was wild. At a PBC event, you can hear a pin drop. Every fight on the UFC undercard was more exciting than the entire PBC card as a whole and the entire UFC event, and it was an EVENT, lasted from 8 PM to around 1:45 AM the NEXT DAY! And the place was packed from the time of the first bell of the first undercard fight to well after the main event was done.

When PBC can put a show like that together and keep the excitement going from beginning to end, then I will say it can be a success. When it can do that EVERY TIME it has a major fight, then the fans will get on board and people will watch. And they will be lining up to actually BUY their tickets instead of waiting for freebies.

But the way it is now, PBC has all the interest and excitement of playing golf in Northern Quebec in the middle of winter.

I agree 100%.. People really try to do the math but in reality none of us are looking at their finance books and are in those business meetings with Haymon to REALLY know if PBC is in bad shape or not. Nobody knows the expectations that haymon has for PBC and what kinda ratings they're looking for. But what I do know is they just purchased more air time on FOX Sports. My question is why would investors fork down more money on another network if PBC is doing so bad? That doesn't make sense to me.

go back to ufc 1.. the days of Ken shamrock, royce gracie, oleg taktarov, tank abbott, mark coleman, don frye, dan severen, kimo etc etc and see how they started. Then ffwd to when Dana white brought in his guys and purchased UFC. with the zuffa bros. Show me their ratings for the first few years(not months) & tell me how they went from a fad to being the only major mma network around. They fought through pridefc, dream, k1, strikeforce, elitexc, wec and made it. They had no major sponsors, they were banned in many states and they stuck through it all and are now a household brand.

pbc is trying to get there. Whether you watch and complain or give up completely, it won't stop them. like the ufc, they're changing the way they see fit to build their brand. If you know anything about the ufc, you'd know by now that they changed their entire program, outlook, production and even rules to benefit them in the long term. From no rules(except eye gauging and biting) to having set rules in place today.

If the ufc could have half the ratings pbc is putting out when zuffa and dana bought them, they'd be dancing in the rain. They were losing money for the longest before they went all in and made a turn. The same can happen to the pbc. They get ratings, they have fighters, they bring in money, and they have a plan in place. Its just going to take consistency. When that happens, you can continue to cry and complain or you can sit back and enjoy. Choice is yours. Not everyone will be pleased but if you're gonna cry about a baby that's only 6 months old, then walk away from their programming and leave it be.

It took the ufc, pre and post Dana White, over 20 years to get here
