They got HBO numbers, on their 2nd show. Granted the audience is about 3 times bigger, but it's not terrible. You're now comparing a main even boxing event to the prelims. Yes, they got more ratings, the entire card, prelim or not, got way more coverage in the media.

Got HBO numbers despite the fact that ESPN is on more homes 3 times more and on basic cable. Also PBC paid way more for this then HBO did for the kovalev card. Check the purses paid out. When you spend more money for the card, and have to pay the networks for the time share on top, and you are on basic cable you need higher ratings then HBO numbers to lure TV advertisers to help recoup these multi million loses. And no matter how people spin in it your main event loses to a UFC prelim is bad. Compared to comparables on network and basic cable these ratings stink.

It's not a great number but it's an improvement, which is what PBC needs desperately.

You need remember this **** had all day coverage on sports center, Showtime and hbo never get that, so that could be big for PBC in the future.

But espn won't cover there fights that aren't on espn, so I dunno.

ESPN didn't spend the money, so the point is irrelevant. They got HBO boxing ratings on their second show on ESPN. It's a good start, I never said it was anything more than that.

No but they spent a lot of valuable television time promoting and covering it.

ESPN gets crazy views, there tv time is freaking expensive.

Did I say ESPN lost money? PBC did and PBC takes the hit when these fights get bad ratings. ESPN gets paid ahead of time they could care less. This is like them airing informercials. But these are bad for PBC they are not overspending HBO to get HBO numbers. That makes no sense

How do you know the finances of PBC? Did you even know the investors know they were going to lose all this money? They aren't overspending to get HBO numbers, they are overspending to grow the brand. Costs money to make money.

And it was paid ahead of time by Al Haymon.
