but will floyd get credit for beating somebody just because they made it "interesting"? .. he is expected to beat everybody. .the only guy i want him to fight is at 154 vs Lara, but i know that fight will get backlash too since lara is "boring".. that's the only guy who i think will really make floyd bring his best.
No, he'll get credit for fighting a guy who was more qualified. Berto and Khan both fight and get battered by Floyd. He'll obviously get more credit beating the better guy.
Floiyd' won a 10-2 decision against bums and against world champs/former champs. Guess what? He got more credit fighting the better guy.
"bums" are capable of pulling the unexpected .. lol just saying
what if ..
Okay but understand that the odds of another Douglas - Tyson happening again are slim. For everytime the huge underdog pulls it off for a fairytale ending, there are literally 1,000's who lost as expected. I'm just talking odds here. Look at Hopkins. He's in his 50's, just fought a monster, and he's talking about fighting a top guy for his goodbye fight. Just fight someone who has decent odds of winning. That is the way that it should be.
Floyd vs. Berto? WTF? I haven't bought a Floyd fight in years but this sure as hell isn't the matchup to make me.
I don't see the point of having a boxing match where everyone already knows the outcome. Floyd will duck, clinch and shoulder roll for 12 rounds, getting in a jab here and a hook there... Berto will talk tough about how he's going to take the fight to Floyd, but he will spend 12 rounds waiting for his opportunity to land some shots - and that will never come.
It goes to the cards... Floyd wins almost all the rounds and then we move on to the next fight.
People want to see a fight where either guy could lose. I want to see Floyd vs. Golovkin.
Don't give me any crap about how they are different classes of fighter - it's an exciting fight and that's all that matters. Golovkin has said he could fight Floyd at 154.
Who else is Golovkin supposed to fight? Who else is Floyd supposed to fight? Put the two big dogs together and find out who is the bigger dog. That's what people want to see.

damn floyd is that good that you want him to fight a middleweight .. but lets say ggg drops to 154, after floyd boxes his ears off all you gonna hear is "he was drained".. you know its true. .why dont you name an opponent at 147 instead..

Still. GGG fighting Floyd @ 154 is better than Berto.

I don't think there are any opponents at 147, at least none I care to watch. Is there anyone who can seriously challenge Floyd at 147? Paq was the big fight and we already saw it (although several years late).
Floyd has fought at light middleweight before, and so has Golovkin - the class issue just isn't an issue.
It's the fight people want to see. And as long as it's a straight up fight at light middleweight, then nobody has any grounds to complain.
The reason these guys get paid so much has nothing to do with how good they are... it's based on how big of an audience they can draw. If the Floyd/Golovkin fight is where the money it at, then that's the fight that should be made.
anything is better than berto.. im not defending it.. just saying, i know what the story will be if ggg drops to 154.. "floyd drained him". . why not recommend somebody who is already at 154 like Lara? thats a competitive fight. but im sure that gets backlash too because lara is "boring".
