The main problem with Beterbiev is that he didn't gather enough ring time so far. He needs more rounds against some tougher opponents and to carry someone into the championship rounds and test his own endurance... He only holds 26 rounds in 9 pro fights -- less than 3 rounds per fight.

The question is: Who can withstand his onslaught long enough to take him into deep water? A 50 year old?
And how is Hopkins vs Abraham any better? It's not like Hopkins is going sweat down to SMW to fight for a title.
Maybe Hopkins can go to Russia and fight Beterbiave for a huge payday
Abraham has a belt at 168 and Hopkins was saying he was interested at winning a title at 168 since he skipped that division. So the incentive here would be for Hopkins to win a title in his third weight class.
Of course this depends on whether or not Hopkins was serious about making 168. The way he was talking it sounded like it wouldn't be a problem and I don't doubt him for a second.
