Catchweights already run amok. If you eliminate these junior divisions, more than a half of fights will be catchweights. The divisions maybe shall be revamped a little bit, but not in such dramatic way.

The limit of cruiser shall go back to 190 and there shall be one more for small heavyweights.
Small weights - I agree, there are too many of them. Also there is some irregularity between MW, SMW and LHW. 8 pounds separate MW and SMW, and only 7 - SMW and LHW. It shall be the other way around, especially if you consider the difference, proportionally to the whole weight. More logical limit would be 167 for SMW. Similar situation is with JWW, WW and JMW. JWW limit shall be moved to 141 or something like this.

I think the amount of "Champions" in each division is the bigger problem

Have no divisions and just have people fighting at catchweights... Oh wait thats already happening.

while weight divisions are only recognised by the bodies that benefit from having more of them, no chance. being able to charge more sanctioning frees for title fights as theres more titles, and as someone said, promoting is easier...

you could always follow the amateurs, which are largely still just single divisions. the only junior divisions you find there are light welter @141 and light fly

I think it would be better if it went alongside the amateur weight divisions, the difference in weight seems about right between every weight class, obviously instead of having Super Heavy and Heavyweight just call them Cruiserweight and Heavyweight for marketing purposes. I think they should go back to same day weigh ins too, but it will never happen.

Wouldn't be so bad if there weren't 4 major world titles per weight class. 68 world titles is a bit much compared to the traditional 8.

Cruiserweight is necessary as the jump is too high to heavyweight for guys that are stuck in no mans land ie 190 pound fighters. I would also make the pro division mirror the amateur champions in terms of weight limits. In the past 201 pound heavyweights never fought at cruiserweight because they would be too weak to make 190 pounds.

Also get rid of 105,115 as these divisions make no sense and are only around for promoters in Latin America and Asia.
