If Thurman has any chance of getting a fight with Mayweather, he has to fight and beat a quality opponent. Mayweather was offering Thurman what Mayweather considers to be a quality opponent in Spence. If hThurman beat Spence, I am certain that Mayweather would have fought Thurman in his 50th fight. Thurman, however, would prefer to fight another Leonard Bundu or Luis Collazo while proclaiming himself to be the best challenger for Mayweather.
    Thank you.

...and contrary to what some may believe, boxing fans knew who Spence was from the amateurs. Just like when some of us knew about Rigo, GGG, Beterbiev, Loma, and so forth.

We are still waiting for that fight between Thurman and Porter which could have happened in March, June, or July when those two fought.

Thurman is a talented boxer / puncher, and he is a character too (he's funny, makes intelligent observations about many aspects of boxing, though he gets pissed off easily by questions he doesn't like to answer - like about fighting Spence). A few years ago, when he tried to get fights with some bigger names, he was turned down (with various excuses being used for rejecting his attempts to get the fights he wanted), though he probably had the ability to do well against the boxers he was trying to face.

Now that Spence is in the same position that Thurman was in back then (Thurman himself admits this), Thurman is using the same kind of excuses that were used against him when he tried to get some better matches. Spence probably has more ability than most of the bigger name boxers (who are ranked higher than he is), but I guess he has to do what Thurman had to do - fight more opponents who are ranked a little above where he is before he can get the "big names" he is already good enough to fight. I think Spence would be a tougher opponent for Thurman than most (if not all) of his previous opponents.

I like Thurman's idea of fighting Spence if Floyd agrees beforehand to fight the winner. I doubt that Floyd would do that, but we'll see.

Thurman sounds like he dont wants none. So, he is saying that he will DUCK unless he can fight Floyd?

People need to stop bumping this thread. It's useless. It's clear he wants none of Spence. In reality, a Spence fight is more meaningful for him than Guerrero or Collazo type opponents. And he knows it. That's why he's frantic and is dropping big names again, as usual.
