this must be a fight that is mentioned in russia and that area of the world cause no one is mentioning it here. maybe if ggg moved up to 168 and after like 4 or so fights then maybe but right now it makes literally no sense

So then is there a double standard?

Mayweather left for 19 months, after one fight he was #2........where do Kovalev and GGG sit on 'The List' and why does he have to beat both? Neither have beaten anyone close to Ward's level........well........a version sorta, kinda like Ward but 20 years older...........they haven't done NEARLY as much on their resumes.........that's a crock of ****.........

I do not base my P4P rating on resume, I base it on what a fighter has done in the past twelve months. If he has not had a fight, off the list he goes. If he has only fought weak, unworthy opponents, off the list he goes. A fighter who only fights once a year will not be on my list.

You cannot win the Superbowl if your team only plays one game per year against the bottom rated team. Same applies for any team sport. A F-1 driver cannot win the championship by winning one race per year.

You prove you are the best by getting in there and competing in your sport. If you do not compete, you do not deserve any accolades. That is my bottom line.

In boxing, for a fighter to make my P4P list, he must have a minimum of 20 fights and fight at least twice per year against the best competition available to him. A fighter who has had ONE fight in the past TWO YEARS, against an unprepared, uncaring, improperly trained, overweight bum, has no place on my list.

As for Mayweather, he would not have had a place on my list until after his second fight back and that fight would have to take place or be announced within 12 months of his first.

And do not forget that we are talking about P4P lists, not division rankings which are a completely different thing and have different standards.

Now when he received an absolutely even offer - what is his answer? So now GGG is coward?

If GGG is coward than you must be one very brave man - calling others cowards while hiding behind internet.
This entire post is a crock......Ward's team asked for 60/40. GGG's team countered with 50/50 before the fight with Lemieux was announced........Ward said ok, 50/50 no problem, then K2 turned it down 'In five minutes' according to RocNation.

They don't want that fight........yet....never if they can help it. I'm sure GGG wants it.......but I think his advisors are worried about a lot of things there......

The only time I'm aware of GGG's side agreeing to anything was for a catch-weight while Ward was sidelined due to promotional issues and it was at 164 at the same time they were trying to sign Froch to 168.....which pretty much speaks for itself and makes sure that the fight doesn't happen.

If Canelo happens to win and asks for 155, what will GGG's side do?

As for Dawson, you're backwards. Dawson had just beaten Hopkins and wanted the 'Ring' titles for both divisions.......HE ASKED for the fight at 168......didn't work out so well for him........

All this "Ward is scared" or "GGG will destroy Ward" is nonsense. I love GGG, don't get me wrong. Kovalev too.........but when Ward fights either of them...he will beat them much more easily than people expect.....

Well, we are gonna find out because HBO won't let Ward fight on their network unless he agrees to fight Killa Kov. Ward wants like 5 tuneups before entertaining a Kov fight yet he wanted GGG to jump up to 168 in his next fight and challenge him. I can't wait for the Ward-Kov fight to happen because Ward is going to get broken down and stopped. That grab and maul tactic crap isn't going to work against him.

HBO Sports president Hershman knows best what about Ward... Hershman took Ward with him when he switched from Showtime to HBO back in January 2012... Hershman had big plans with Ward but he was clearly disappointed...
I don't think Ward will be in a big hurry to fight Kovalev.

However I disagree. Saying that Ward is better in every part of boxing - can't agree with that. Ward is worse than Kovalev in delivering meaningful punches on the move. Ward is worse than them both at very important aspect - inflicting damage other than mental frustration (which is important as well). So in a fight with this two Ward and his opponent at the start of the fight may not be the same come middle of the fight and on.
Also Ward vs both GGG and Kovalev - when we compare their skill level than may be Ward is superior but really the difference is not that much. Both Golovkin and Kovalev are extremely well schooled amateurs. We can see in the past that Golovkin dealt and was victorious with likes of Dirrel and Bute. That was in amateurs where his power advantage was diminished greatly but gloves/head gear. Those were guys much bigger than him so it means that he had enough skill to outbox them. (Well he did put Bute on his ass - I admit it). Sergey skill set was evident vs Kovalev. Sergey wasn't trying to stop him. He wanted to show that he can box and outbox elite operator. That was untill Hopkins made a mistake and showed his tan trying to tease Kovalev. After that point he looked like a ragged dall and was extremely lucky to survive. Had he managed to upset Sergey earlier in the fight than I don't feel he would be able to avoid being KO'd.

So skill difference is not large by any means
. But when we compare power difference than Ward is nowhere near GGG and Kovalev. Ability to inflict damage/brake down his opponent - nowhere near.

I would live to see both fights.
                    LOL

                    What a load of crap.

                    1) Ward is much better of both GGG and Kovalev "on the move" , faster feet, faster hands, what are you talking about?

                    2) Yeah, but you know, you are actually allowed to block and dodge punches, and Ward has a much better defense than both

                    3) Sergey was very composed and Bhop is a legend, but he's a 50 years old man. Second, Sergey was trying to not fall into traps, that's why he was so composed, not because he wanted to prove he could box ...lol... like GGG getting hit by purpose...smh

If Ward fights either guy it would be the best guy he's ever fought hands down..
He beats GGG IMO. Kovalev I'm not sure..that dude lands one good right hand and Ward could be out so who knows....
