is it a coincidence that he only turned up the heat after hopkins taunted him then? or that he backed off after scoring the early kd? i don't think he carried pascal - he was disappointed in his own performance afterwards - but it did appear that he treated the hopkins fight almost as a sparring session

Let's try not to forget that Kov is a man , not a machine. In other words he has a limited fuel tank with a certian capacity level just like any other men/boxers. Have u ever heard of boxers punching themselves out due to attempting to do too much to soon ? Kov could of never fought at the rate he did in the 12th all throughout the fight , and to suggest otherwise is foolhardy. Hopkins was his first real fight with a legend and hall of famer. Kov was more than likely somewhat starstruck and overly cautious due to his long standing reputation of how he has a tendency to derail up and coming young fighters . Therefore Kov's cautiousness was caused by his own natural apprehension of Hopkins , not by any sense of attempting to cut him any breaks out of respect. John Jackson said himself that he told Kov to go in there and treat him like an old man .

I'd have to agree . Most fighters say that although they prefer to take care of swift business in the ring , the most important thing is the BOTH fighter return home safely to their families . Not this racist s..t stain , instead he'd rather continue to put fighters into a deep sleep . Furthermore , I wonder why we don't hear the word "Racist" attached to Kovalev like a shadowing sir-name considering his monkey rant ? Stevenson is rarely ever just called Stevenson . I actually called Adonis a douche bag because of the level of competition he has been fighting. With that said, I also knew that you would read way to much into what I said.
