Well, Canelo IS the naturally bigger fighter. He should be able to withstand the smaller man's punch. Not only that, Cotto's been hurt more than once @ 140.

That's true as well... we will have to see. IMO ya shouldn't sleep on Cotto's power. New trainer & the new S&C coach his hands down the BEST he's ever worked with.

I think Cotto can win but í definitely don't think he's more likely to. He has looked great once his competition demished quite a bit. Lets not forget Austin Trout was able to out work him easily despite not being the most active himself. Just active enough with pop to discourage Cotto. Martinez was immobile and had been seriously hurt before. The other guys were out of their league against Miguel.

When it comes to chin, kirkland landed a few clean shots but was completely unable to discourage Canelo. I suspect Cotto will find the same. Canelo getting shaken early in his career against Miguel's brother doesn't look so bad when you see that Cintron, Angulo, Mosley, and Kirkland all touched him up with no effects. Miguel, on the other hand, has been seriously hurt by chop chop Corley, Ricardo Torres, margarito, and Pacquiao. That's a variety of type of guys who have hurt him.

I like Miguel and it should be a good fight, but if Canelo is progressing the way I think he is and going into his prime he should batter Cotto. If Cotto wins then i have to credit him for reinventing himself and taking his career beyond what seemed capable.

That is a ****** way to fight Cotto. Canelo cant out box Cotto. Canelo will need to put his big boy shoes and pressure/bully Cotto to win this fight. He must cut the ring off and counter cottos jab with his right hand(easier said than done). He also must be first because if you let Cotto set the pace you are in deep trouble.

Cotto can take away the right hand from Canelo just like ge took away Mayweathers right hand in their fight. Cotto throws his jab from an angle that makes it incredible hard to counter it because he can throw it when you least expect it.

I expect Cotto to circle away from canelo and peper him with jabs and hook to the body. It will be Canelos job to cut the ring and counter Cottos attack with pressure that makes cotto back away insted of circle. If canelo gets cotto to back away he will be able to land his right hand since cotto is easy to hit when he is on his back foot.

To add to my other post Canelo lacks the stamina, boxing skills and style to put the game planob to beat Cotto.

Cotto most likely stops him late or wins a wide decision

lol, similar styles so what does that tell you. Cotto is going to put this kid in his place. If he doesn't get careless Cotto got this.

I agree, but Cotto is also a well-schooled vet who can adapt.

Awhile back I woulda had Canelo pegged as a clear favorite, but not sure now.

I still have Canelo as favorite, but Cotto is definitely in this fight.

Canelo is a beast, and this is a young mans sport.

Great fight, hope its at 154 !

I think cottos well timed jab and body punching will beat canelo he's just all around the better fighter. But cotto gasses too and if the pace is intense through out and cotto can't keep canelo off it might end bad.

I think Cotto will outbox him, is going to be a fight like Cotto vs Clottey.

Canelo brought pressure too lara for 12 rounds even while getting outboxed. So that shows that canelo stamina is good enough.

Cotto stamina isn't better than lara. Lara can run all night. Cotto cant, so canelo won't have too use half of what he used up chasing erislandy.

I expect cotto too box brilliantly for the first 4 rounds. And then a war is gonna break out and Cotto doesn't absorb punches that well.

I got canelo in a close fight. This is the definition of a 50-50 fight.

Cotto is the better overall fighter but Canelo will go out on his shield that night if he has too. Cotto wont
