They don't want to fight Beterbiev

They'll act like they're trying to make the fight, then "settle" on some nobody in Russia

Beterbiev has very heavy hands but Kovalev is a much smoother operator. Beterbiev loads on his punches, Kovalev can win this fight easily if he doesn't stay inside too long.

Question for any Russians or anyone who has knowledge about Russia:

How would this fight play out over there with the fans? Would most of the support fall behind Kovalev because he is a world champion and from the Moscow area or would most of the support be for Beterbiev because he was more of a star amateur that represented Russia twice in the Olympics?

Also, would there be any backlash against Beterbiev because he is a Chechen and I assume a ******?

        Thanks.

This guy only has 9 fights and is ranked in all the belts top 5. He should only fight number 1 mandatories because he has 3 belts so means he has to fight 3 times a year and Pascal is a meaningless fight cause he's already proved it's a mismatch fight. Knocked him out already so should only fight him again if he becomes a mandatory for one of his belts.

                Thats pretty much it.

He'll be the favourite but at least Beterbiev wont be scared to hit him back.

I dont know why thats a bad thing, if true.

I have never noticed it personally, but I dont get too involved with that stuff.

Kovalev seems like a great guy in the few interviews that I have seen, but that stuff has never worried me..... I dont care if my guy is popular/unpopular/friendly/unfriendly/hits his baby-mama, whatever

Its good for a fighter to have bit of mongrel in him.

Betterbiev is better known in Russia because of his amateur career, i even remember watching a documentary film about him on national tv in 2007/2008.
And nobody knew who kovalev is till he became world champ in 2014. You can say russians know Kovalev since 2014

There is no problem with chechens, president of chechen republic kadirov is a friend of ***** lol
