Mayweather would have frustrated him into 'no mas' territory.

It's amazing how often other fighters and ex fighters mention Floyd when they want media attention for a fight or something they are about to do.
When Floyd retires, who will be the boxer used to get attention?
The same can be stated for many of the Top-Guys whose name is being exploited for media attention.
Many may not agree, but Team GGG got a lot of mileage out of using Ward's name for years. Now that Ward is back fighting and seeking opponents, the tune has changed a lot.

You used Cory Spinks as an example of how Mayorga can be easily flustered by a pure boxer.
I brought up how a pure boxer in Vernon Forrest got beaten twice by the limited but awkward Mayorga.
Now I'm not saying that Mayorga would have beaten Floyd. The point I'm trying to make is how despite being a limited brute, a fighter like Mayorga can give even a highly skilled boxer trouble due to his awkwardness and unpredicability. Just how Maidana was able to give Floyd problems in their 2 fights.Last edited by Deevel916; 07-27-2015, 12:16 PM.
