Sadly Mayweather Jr will never receive the credit that he deserves. His style is an acquired taste that appeals to a very small demographic of fans.

To his credit he was able to market himself as a villian and capitalized on being the heel. As a result, he became the fighter that everyone tuned in to see so that they would be able to witness somebody finally shut him up. So far it hasnt happened but I feel that ever since the Pac fight his drawing power will suffer.

Personally I'm no fan of his style but I give credit where credit is due. He's a defensive master who has the ability to nulify whatever his opponent brings into the ring. I'd just prefer to see a fighter actually fight and bring the fight to his opponent rather than being a points fighter.

Mayorga knows what the deal is. Mention Floyd so you and your upcoming fight gets attention.

It's amazing how often other fighters and ex fighters mention Floyd when they want media attention for a fight or something they are about to do.

When Floyd retires, who will be the boxer used to get attention?

Even without hitting the lottery, Mayweather's name is still used to sell tickets.

Mosley is trying to show other young fighters that a greedy promoter is not needed to make fights. If two dudes want to fight. They fight. No excuses. Mosley even said almost 100k would be great for this ppv.

Im buying. I believe in what he's saying. These greedy promoters are blocking fights, or fighters hiding behind promoters etc.

Got it! Good reverse psychology but not gonna happen with anyone from Planet Earth or boxing skills. People brawl because they have to not because they want to. Why do you think Arturo Gatti tried to change his style after the first Ward fight. He was never the same or any good but he really did not like getting beaten upside the head every single fight.
Precisely this. The fighters who want to stand toe-to-toe are the ones that can't do anything else. Like Ruslan (see his post interview from the Algieri fight), and Manny (see his post interview from the Mayweather fight).

"I would have beaten ______ if they'd just stop moving!"

And people actually have the nerve to support that nonsense.

What's even funnier, to go along with that quote, is that a prime Mayorga would give that f*ggot a lot of trouble. Mayorga's unorthodox rough house style would be a handful for Floyd to deal with.
