Canelo didn't have to fight Lopez or Ortiz he could have actually fought a contender from his own division.Lopez only had one fight at 147,I think it's closer to the Salka situation than you think.

I got go with Danny Garcia he beat the likes of herrera,matthysse,peterson,khan and zab judah while canelo clearly lost to lara but beat trout barley and beat weight drained/inactive kirkland plus got schooled by mayfeather.


So why is canelo overhyped ??

You can't play that game when it comes to Canelos disputed decisions and not treat Garcia the same. A lot of people thought Herrera clearly outboxed Garcia. Also Peterson clearly outboxed him the second half of the fight and made Garcia look average.

On the other hand most people had the Lara fight very close either way, so I don't know what you mean CLEARLY beat Canelo? You definitely have a bias. Don't try to disguise it.

i had canelo beating trout and lara, but garcia losing to herrera and peterson. lara is probably a slightly better win than matthysse or khan to me. it's a close call though. canelo being humiliated by mayweather takes some sheen off of him

I'll give the edge to Garcia but I think Canelo is the better fighter. If Canelo beats Cotto, then the edge goes to Canelo

Lopez was seen as the warm up for Ortiz for him eventually fighting Canelo, I think its only fair he got a shot at Canelo, you beat the guy who sees you as just a warm up for a bigger fight then why shouldn't you earn that shot?
Salka on the other hand did absolutely **** all to deserve any shot at someone like Danny, never mind that he doesn't deserve to fight anyone in the top 20!

Canelo has clearly fought better and continues to fight better I've not seen a Rod Salka-esque opponent in his record any time recently, that's because there hasn't been!

So are we just gonna ignore the josesito lopez fight? I think Canelo has a slightly better resume but lets not get crazy here. Canelo just has more fans cause mexican fanbase is the biggest in boxing.
