    I think it's a genuinely 50-50 great fight

But, if I have to predict, I think Kovalev KO's Ward in the late rounds. Sweet Pea said Hopkins went the distance, but Kovalev fought Hopkins extremely cautious as he was admitted nerves after the fight. More importantly, it's not like Hopkins did anything. I can't recall a single meaningful punch. Hopkins didn't last; he survived by hanging in there as a goal until Kovalev went Krusher in the 12

With that said, Ward is a GREAT fighter. I don't see how his patented clinches work with a such a powerful guy who is so good at taking steps back and firing. Unlike GGG, I think Krusher can fight off his back fine.

    Great, great fight

Of course, many of you fanboys will say Ward "dominates" or Krusher "kills" him. Neither will happen.

This is a tough fight for both, I can see it going either way. GGG-Ward, I got Ward all day. However, Kovalev is on a diff lvl than GGG. Kovalev is the real deal. I seen him spar a cruiserweight actually back in 2011 and everybody knew this guy was going to be special. He's very ruthless and kind of demonic in the ring but nice guy outside the ring.

Ward needs to approach this fight the way he did Kessler.

Gonna be a real tough night for ward if they square off....kovalev can box from a distance and has good all round skills....if anything he is better from a distance and he uses the jab as a range finder for his right hand....ward is really a light heavy now and came in at 172 which is 2 pounds below kovalev now......I think golovkin will be tied up in the middleweights for the next year or so at least...once he beats Lemieux then it's impossible for either canelo or cotto to side step him....so wards only big showdown is with kovalev and I can't see ward beating him simply because kovalev matches up so well to him.....man up ward it's time to face the krusher

            Ward
            Golvokin
            Kovalev

One of 3 are the next potential P4P #1 IMO.

            Just dspends who beats who.

There's Rigondeaux and Gonzalez who could argue that ranking depending who they beat.

Ward-Kovalev or Ward-Golovkin are THE fights to make at the moment.

Ward will do more than test Kovalev, he'll beat him. I forget the kid's name. But the black kid Kovalev fought before Hopkins used really rough tactics, borderline dirty, and it made Kovalev very uncomfortable. After thst fight was when Hopkins started calling for a Kovalev fight. He figured he could employ mant of the same tactics. He was just too old, and Kovalev has a lil more to his game than Hopkins thought. Ward will rough Kovalev up on the inside. There will be clinches. There will be headbutts. And Kovalev will come unglued.

If Ward can't get GGG at 168 he should take it. By them demanding a catchweight it's a forgone conclusion that they feel they can't beat him at 168 so why bother?
