He really does. When he trains for the last fight, part of the game plan is switching to southpaw for the last moments of the fight. He was southpaw for literally less than a second.

The boxing scenes actually looked okay. Particularly for the last fight. A lot more realistic when compared to just about every Rocky movie aside from Balboa and the original Rocky.

Rocky may not of been realistic, but the way those guys moved they all had definite styles and moved like real boxers.

I don't think the rocky series gets enough credit for That.

You left those movies feeling like you just watched the best fight ever.

I saw Southpaw and 50 Cents acting was terrible, the little girl is annoying, it has every boxing cliché you can think of and if you see the preview you know exactly whats going to happen. Very predictable plot. But the one bright spot is Gyllenhaals acting. He steals every scene he is in and was very impressive in the boxing scenes.

lol those movies are part of the reason why casuals crap on any fight that isn't a total blood bath, all-or-nothing brawl. Nothing realistic about the fighting scenes in those films. Even their bodybuilding, 1980's physiques don't seem realistic. I remember in Rocky IV, Drago knocks down Rocky and he hilariously just rolls over and gets up only to get pummeled on the ropes again with the ref not doing anything.

They all clearly had different styles that was obvious and they all had bigger than life personalities that were over the top. That's what was good about it. I don't know about they moved like real boxers. The way they fought was nothing like boxing.

LMAO. The movie was nothing like Rocky V. Nothing at all.

While there is nothing realisic about it. The series is responsible for creating boxing fans. Wheather casual or not. Hell, if it wasn't for Rocky, I would have never had an interest in boxing at all. Rocky is what sparked it for me.
