What happens if Haymon says NO for Beterbiev, but YES for Fonfara?

Yes please, you'd have to favour Kovalev but Beterbiev's power can make it interesting.

Is Fonfara vs Cleverly still on?

Ward to step up seems right. Kovalev and Stevenson have clearly been at the top of the division for long enough. They shouldn't be allowed to get away with not fighting each other. Ward can have the loser.

Who r u actually referring to as the super douche-bag ? Stevenson the x-pimp or Kov the current hard nose racist ? I was just wondering .

Artur is barely starting to get some hype. I think he beats anyone right now at 175, except for maybe Kovalev.
If Artur loses he's going to be called a hype job and won't give Sergey any credit. Might as well let Artur keep winning.
It's not like we will have to wait 5-10 years for this fight anyway. I think Yvon Michel is probably more confident that Artur can beat Sergey than Adonis. I thin k at the earliest it will happen late next year or early 2017. I don't mind waiting. There is still thing I want to see Artur do before fighting Sergey.
It is also a risky fight for Sergey, if he loses to Artur, they will say he got beat by a guy with only 9 fights.
It's a losing situation for both fighters at the moment. I think Duva is just trying to make Haymon look bad. If Haymon doesn't allow it, they will call one of his fighters a duck. If Haymon allows it, his fighter could very well lose.
I hope Haymon and Yvon don't accept the fight. I don't think they will, like I said I'm pretty sure they are building up Beterbiev to be the Kovalev conqueror but they need a little more seasoning. Beterbiev probably has the best shot at beating Kov without a doubt.

The guy last night wasn't ready for Kov lol. Beterbiev definitely is ready. Would he be more ready later? Sure, but thats no reason not to start things now. This could be a trilogy or something.

Beterbiev turns 31 in January. The guy ain't got forever & if he skips this opportunity he could be 32 by the time this fight gets made or it might never be makeable cuz Kov might just drop the title if Haymon/GYM wins the purse bid in a year when hes the mandatory, who knows. If Kov beats Ward he's a boss (I ain't betting on it, but who knows) & can do what he wants & the fight might be forever gone.

I really for the life of me don't see how making Kov vs Beterbiev in November in Russia isn't win win for all parties. **** if Beterbiev takes the fight & loses in September he could probably be the mandatory within 18 months with his skill level & redeem himself or pick up a vacated title off of Kov & defend it in Canada for the next 4 years til he's past his prime.

Drozd and Lebedev are Russian. If Kovalev wants to fight in Russia. Seems like a great to me to step up and try and snatch a cruiserweight belt.
