does cotto still needs a step aside deal even know ggg is already signed to fight somebody else???
doesnt that kind of leaves cotto free for at least his next fight?
dont really know how it works but doesnt make sense to me, that one is asking for step aside deal while signed to fight somebody else...

“GGG is mandatory for the Cotto-Canelo winner and it is supposed to be the next fight,” Dan Rafael said on his chat at ESPN.com last Friday. “Whether it happens or now, who knows. If it doesn’t the winner of Cotto-Canelo will be stripped and GGG, as interim WBC titlist, will become its full titleholder.

oh, i know that after the fight the winner is supposed to fight ggg, but i believed they needed step aside deal just to have the title in line for the fight...
cotto isnt even supposed to be fighting canelo with the title on the line unless he gets step aside deal from ggg... but it looks to me that step aside deal wont be necessary since ggg isnt even available to fight cotto next, so cotto-canelo gets made, ggg gets no step aside agreement but the winner must fight him next...

GGG might not be getting step aside money.

GGG must be getting paid for the Lemieux fight. I figure he is because if it's PPV then it means HBO couldn't afford the purse to have it on regular cable.

Hard to tell if the WBC will force a GGG- Canelo/Cotto winner fight. Nothing they do would suprise me. They could give said winner a silver type belt or platinum or whatever they choose to call it.

if they do the same thing they did last time with rubio, rubio was mandatory to maravillo, cotto beats maravilla and when rubio tried to get cotto in the ring wbc said rubio wasnt cottos mandatory since he was allowed a voluntary, so if cotto wins he has to fight ggg next, but if canelo wins(most likely scenario) he gets a voluntary before ggg..
who knows, maybe the wbc invents a new rule to satisfy their needs, they have done worst things on the past...

A step aside deal is still required. Golovkin is the mandatory for Cotto, that does not prevent GGG from fighting anyone else at anytime he wishes as Cotto is not the mandatory for GGG. Murray recently fought twice in less than a month and Golovkin is fighting Lemieux on OCT 17th and I am quite sure that if Cotto offered to fight him on Nov 21st, a month later, Golovkin would happily take the fight.

There still must be a step aside agreement, and that agreement must consist of a signed agreement for the winner to fight Golovkin next or the title will not be on the line. Whatever else is included, such as financial compensation, has not been revealed or discussed with the media.

Lemiux lost to Rubio by TKO and took forever to get rid of a blown up middleweight in Rosado, I don't know why people are acting like Hypelovkin is fighting anybody worthy of any attention or merit.

Do you think if he fought Cotto it would be worth attenion or merit?

He wants to. He also wanted to fight the other title holders in his division.

I don't think that this does 300 buys.

                      GGG will win pretty easily.
