Yeah its a bit odd, but I'd say he's a very young 37 being that he hasn't taken much punishment in his career being that he started so late, very low mileage on the car so to speak.
Still makes you wonder if he's already started to decline a little. I really hope Kovalev and Stevenson can come together soon and make the fight that the fans deserve at 175.Comment

When he was involved with the street gang in the late 90s, he was training at the same time to earn a spot on the Canadian Olympic boxing team. Then when the gang was busted, all of that went up in smoke and he went to prison for a ridiculously short period of time, 4 years but he was out in less than two. But that time was long enough to derail his career for a few years. He was released in 2001 and had a short amateur career, losing twice to Pascal. He turned pro in 2006 and went on a bit of a tear before the daunting Darnell Boone stopped him in two rounds in 2010.
He took the loss badly and took a year off after it and came back totally refreshed in 2011 and has been quite active since then, avenging his loss to Boone, knocking him out in 6 in 2013 and fighting three more times in 2013 with devastating results for his opponents. He looked like he could go down as a great LHW.
Makes it all the sadder that he ran to Haymon instead of fighting Kovalev when he had the chance.Comment

I read up on what he did. He's a terrible human being, and I don't get how anyone like that gets out of prison.
That said, he's a free man and has a right to make a living. The one upside to Kovalev-Stevenson not ever happening is that it would be a PPV fight and I would have a tough time forking over money for that guy. What he did was a level worse then Floyd or Tyson (who I also struggled with supporting).Comment

I think Tyson was railroaded and do not believe he ****d that girl. I did not believe it at the time it happened and he has always held that he did not force her into sex and I believe him.I read up on what he did. Wrong. He didn't properly pay for his crimes. Some people deserve a second chance when they actually pay for their crimes. On top of that, he never apologized to the women and girls and their families.

He knocks guys out and boxes well if he needs to. He started boxing late too so his body is younger in a boxing sense. Although, no matter your age decline will happen at some point and men will start to notice that around 40 years old.Comment
