This is very smart on CBS' part. JUST IN CASE Floyd fights again they have the rights. Fight number 50 will do enormous numbers and they want a piece of that pie.

if he wants a cake walk no one can complain..he's unified 3 belts in his last 4 fights
canelo, maidana, and pac were all unification bouts...name another guy who ias done that
he fought 2 guys on the p4p list in his last 4 fights...name aonther guy who done that

berto is not a knock on his resumes...hell it's his deserved easy touch..

thurman can fight collazo and his best win is robert ghost?
brook could fight dan and gavin but his best win is porter?

Ive always been a fan of Mayweather but I was really looking forward to him retiring and "going away" already. I just want to see the new welterweights rise. If he plans on fighting on free TV against the Bertos of the world, then I guess its alright. I personally wouldnt pay for anything less than Thurman, Cotto or a GGG fight, which isnt realistic.

According to official scorecards, he hasn't won 11 rounds since Mosley, or 12-0'ed someone since Marquez.

I would rather Mayweather allow networks to fight over him, instead of him clearly picking one side over another. That way, Floyd/Bradley becomes a possibility.

Yea, I'd rather he retire. But that 50th fight is where the money is at. Has all the potential to be one of his top 3 paydays. That fight is a real big deal. It'd surprise me more than anything if he passes it up.

Exactly. I think SHO's reasoning is that they dont believe Mayweather is going to retire after his next fight, and they fear hes going to start a bidding war for his 50th fight between the networks after he finishes his contract. This is SHO playing abit of hardball I think, they'll let Floyd fight his easy fight, but hes going to have to sign an extension first just incase he decides to continue fighting, they would have the rights. I absolutely get it.

Official score cards count for ****. He completely whitewashed canelo, Guerrero and he really hasn't lost more than 4 rounds to anyone but Maidana possibly
