There are positive noises from both sides regarding a future Ward-Kovalev fight.

Not so much for GGG-Ward because Team GGG don't want the fight. They're making demands that they know can't be met.

But my question is when has Ward called out Kovalev or even said he wanted to fight him? The first time he was asked about him he said "What would I do after that?" Basically verbally avoiding him.


Meanwhile, Golovkin at the least offered him a fight at 164 and Ward has been hush-hush about it.

Even with the Floyd/Pac flaming, throughout the whole time both fanbases wanted the fight and both fanbases truly believed their fighter could win.

If Ward decides to go up to 175, he says a fight with Kovalev is an obvious scenario.

"It's possible. When I eventually get to 175 and I'm a full-fledged light heavyweight...of course at the right time that's the fight that I want. You can't come to a guy's weight class and at some point in time not want to fight the best in that division, that goes without saying," Ward said.
