GGG and his fans have been complaining that the MW champ will not fight him. SO since he can't get the fight he wants, he needs a fight. Instead of the garbage he's been fighting, there is a fight with Andre Ward @168, the same weight he was willing to fight Froch or Chavez at because:

HE COULDNT GET THE MW FIGHT HE WANTED!!!!!!

So the natural progression is to fight Ward and if Ward wins, he will go to 175 to fight KOv because:

HE HAS CLEANED OUT SMW AND WILL HAVE BEATEN GGG, THE ONLY FIGHTER UNDER 175 PEOPLE THINK CAN BEAT HIM!!!!!!

Having to explain this to you is depressing. you are not one of the idiots on NSB. I get you love Kov and GGG, but your trying to gerrymander the situation sucks.

If he fights a garbage man next, then okay. But if he unifies with Lemieux, isn't that an OKAY option before getting the Canelo/Cotto winner? Look that fight HAS to happen after they fight. If Canelo wins, it'll happen. GGG can collect a title before it happens then fight Canelo.

IF Canelo doesn't fight him, well then I agree at that point natural progression is to move up and fight Ward. But not UNTIL Cotto/Canelo happens and the fight either gets made/fails to be made

Ward is not in the same situation. He is younger than Golovkin and already has a much better career. He hasn't asked to fight Kovalev at any silly catchweights. He wants to beat Golovkin at 168 before moving to 175 and fighting Kovalev.

Boxing fans want to see both fights. Scared GGG fans don't.
