Lara would have been good though definitely the best opponent that GGG would have faced.
Lemieux is crude as ****. He is entertaining but that's all. He is a second rate brawler who got his belt with beating an other second-third rate fighter. A guy who got KTFO by Rubio isn't a step up in competition for Golovkin.

I don't need an argument. People that have a clue can see how dumb you are.

Just like most GGG fans, you don't know **** about boxing.

Golovkin and his team have a nice run this week.

Firs, his promoter tells that they wouldn't fight now with Hopkins at 168 but Hopkins!!! is a good future opponent.

After that they came with the "Ward fight only at 164" while they wanted to go to 168 for Froch ad Chavez Jr.

After that his dumb ass trainer says Lara has to earn his shot while Lara has a better resume than everyone GGG fought and maybe even better than GGG's himself.

And lastly they say that a Lemieux fight will happen. So instead of Lara, Ward and Hopkins they choose Lemieux. Lara and Ward most definitely but probably even Hopkins would be a better opponent than Lemieux.
So in short, they had the opportunity to choose from 3 opponents who are all would be Golovkin's best opponents up to date (Hopkins is arguable because this version of him is probably somewhere on Murray's level, but because he fought in bigger weight class I give to Hopkins) and then they turn all of them down and they choose a fourth, less dangerous opponent.
IBF belt doe... I know guys, but facts are facts. And the fact now is they chose the least dangerous fight out of the four. The only one with they won't step up a single level in competition.
After this I don't want to hear anybody whining about how ducked Golovkin is. Please.

Lemieux is a young guy who continues to improve and has a fan friendly style and a large fan base in Canada. He's also a world champ and has a 9 fight win streak, 7 by KO. Hits like a mule. With GGGs supposedly leaky defense, could go either way. Exciting unification bout for people who like to see fireworks.

Lara is only one division lower, but GGG wouldn't get credit because of that? That's a terrible excuse.

Lara is better than anyone he has faced. Lara's got belts, he's had a 50/50 fight with Canelo....beat him in better fashion and he'll get plenty of credit. Guys on here give him credit for beating guys like Stevens and Monroe, but not Lara? Nonsense.

The only way I understand the lemieux fight is that it brings him closer to unifying the division.

In the last few months, Lara - who holds the WBA/IBO titles at junior middleweight - has demanded a fight with Golovkin

thats exactly what hes done. holds the wba/ibo 154
what has any of thise other opponents ggg fought has done? or belts they hold?..... okay then, point made

Why are Golovkin fans trying to hype up Lemieux? He's not even as good as Murray a B- fighter.
